Capturing Elk in The Tetons

About me…

Being a photographer for me has a different meaning than most. I would love to tell you of the credentials I have from famous schools, and I would if I had them. But truth be told I am a simple man who loves photography, who is self taught with the help of a mentor or two. Photography is more than taking a picture or capturing a moment, it’s about being present in a moment and telling a story of what I am witnessing. More times than not I come home with nothing more than the experience of being somewhere and witnessing life’s events. Quite often I am able to capture what I witnessed and that is what I am sharing with you here at Blending Time.

Although my desire is to become a full time photographer, reality keeps me in check and the daily grind of paying the bills still guides me. I travel most weekends always in search of new adventures and new faces along the way. The adventure and people are what make this journey interesting and fulfilling, always learning and hopefully passing on the knowledge I have acquired.

Playing on the Rocks in Moab

I have a military background and spent the better part of 1o years overseas. I travelled the world extensively, however as a young sailor my brain hadn’t quite developed enough to understand the beauty and treasures I was witnessing. Once I realized I wasn't cut from the right mold to make a lifetime of being in the Navy I headed home to Colorado. For the last 20+ years I have lived in Carbondale amongst absolute beauty and the most serene places a person could dream of.   Ive always had an interest in photography but never took it seriously, never imagined how looking at the world through a lens would give me a passion for capturing life's moments.  My experience is primarily landscape and wild life photography which is on the edge of being indescribable.

I hope you travel with me and enjoy these images and much as I have capturing them.
